May 29

Hello, it’s been a busy last 3 days full of drives, but some good photo opportunities were made. Today was especially nice, taking a day drive with Natalie on our day off through iSimangaliso with a stop at Mission Rocks where we came across a wonderful sight of at least a hundred or more butterflies, all different species on a single tree, quite spectacular. Yesterday I took the photographers to Mission Rocks as well, where we were aiming to photograph the marine life in the tide pools. It was great fun getting a bit wet, but a good sighting of a couple of young eels! Thursday drive was to iMfolozi where we spent a good deal of time at the hides next to the waterholes. It’s a new month this week with the new group of 5 photographers arriving tomorrow, time to start over again! Enjoy the photos!

  1. Don’t even know where to start. The butterflies are beautiful and the 6 zebras are amazing. Have to love Mission Rocks 6tho. all are wonderful as usual. look like it was a fun few days!! Take care, miss you.

  2. always a treat to see your images. you never cease to amaze. I keep reviewing previous weeks , and even last year and I have to ask; are you getting better or what.
Love the critters reflected at the water hole.
    Keep adding to the portfolio.

  3. Absolutely stunning! I love the way you composed zebras; very creative! Mission rocks 7 … very nice! The eagle, the vulture and the grey heron – I’m so envious! Very nice composition of the drongo. The butterflies … I think butterfly 5 is my favourite. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures with us. I feel so privileged to be able to see your work.

  4. I have to add … really love the composition of the martial eagle … the branch above really brings the gaze full circle back to the eagle. Very well done!
